Rutger Claes explores the tension between photography and film, working primarily with analog processes alongside digital techniques. His practice spans portraits, landscape studies, and film work across music and fashion. By combining narrative and visual research, he creates images that balance emotion, structure, and atmosphere.
He has worked with clients such as Vogue, Elle Belgium, Cineville Veritas, Horst, Bazart, Oscar and the Wolf, and Live Nation, consistently pushing the boundaries of photography and filmmaking.
His work has been shown at Kunsthal Gent’s Zomersalon (2025) and the Sorry Not Sorry festival in Ghent (2022)
